Pastor’s Corner – A New Season

Dear Cornerstone Family,

Happy New Year to all of you! I look forward to our first worship service of the year this coming Sunday!

As the new year begins, we will be heading into a special season in the life of the church, as we enter together into our generosity initiative, which is sometimes referred to as a capital campaign.

During this season, we will be specifically talking about stewardship and generosity, not just from a financial perspective, but how to be generous stewards of all that God has given us.

In Sunday School, we will begin a study called “Lifestyle Stewardship” on January 12. In February, when we begin the official campaign, we will have a devotional and prayer guide available for the month.

On Wednesday, January 27, we will have a “Prayer and Praise” night at the church where we come together to pray for the campaign and also enjoy an evening of fellowship. On Wednesday, February 26, we will gather together again for another “Prayer and Praise” night to give thanks for what God is doing in our midst during the campaign. Due to these events and other aspects of the campaign, we will be taking a break from Foundations during this season and look forward to resuming that later on in 2020.

It is our prayer that this would be a time of significant spiritual growth for you and your family, that you would be “rooted and built up in Christ and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving” (Colossians 2:7)
