It is hard to believe, but after this Sunday, the Advent season will be upon us. I love this time of year. I love the anticipation! I love the longing that we get to experience as we reflect on the first advent of Christ (the incarnation) and hope for the second advent of Christ (His return, the second coming).
This year our Advent sermon series will be on The Preeminence of Christ in the Incarnation. We will circle back to Colossians 1:15-20 and focus on Jesus and how the incarnation points to Christ’s preeminence. Please make plans to join us for the four Sundays of Advent, beginning December 1st. Our annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be on Tuesday, December 24th at 5pm.
Our ladies enjoyed a Jesse Tree party last night. Each came away with ornaments as well as an Advent devotional book. If you were unable to attend, we have another resource for you to help you and your family worship and anticipate during the Advent season. We have purchased several copies of Little Hearts Prepare Him Room. These are available for free, one per family, in the narthex this Sunday.
But before we get too far ahead of ourselves, this coming week is Thanksgiving. We have much to be thankful for. I’m Thankful for my church family, Cornerstone, and the blessing it is to worship, grow and serve with you to glorify God.
See you Sunday. Happy Thanksgiving!
